It was recently announced that production has started on a continuation anime to Masamune Shirow’s Ghost in the Shell. The continuation is called Ghost in the Shell Arise. The official site for the anime has also opened.
The staff for the new series includes Kazuchika Kise as director and To Ubukata as writer. The music will be composed by Cornelius. The anime is being produced by Production I.G, who is well known for producing other Ghost in the Shell works.
On Feb. 12, a commemorative event was held for the series at Toho cinemas in Roppongi Hills. At the event, the previous anime was screened as part of a live viewing. Also at the event, more details were unveiled about this much anticipated continuation series. We will post more details on this soon.
