All character visuals have finally been released for Ghost in the Shell: Arise: Ghost is Alive which is being hailed as a reproduction that could only come as a stage play. Four characters are revealed in the third round of visuals: Batou, Borma, Ibachi, and Thied. With Batou being such a popular character in the series, these visuals are sure to bring the stage play even more attention.
Ghost in the Shell: Arise: Ghost is Alive is a stage play adaptation of the new series Ghost in the Shell: Arise ongoing since 2013. Performances will be held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre Playhouse in Ikebukuro from Nov. 5–15. The play will make use of 3D visuals and even active camouflage. It’s not a 2.5D play, but rather a new experiment in stage plays that is making headlines.
Four characters are revealed in the third round of visuals: Batou, Borma, Ibachi, and Thied. Among them, Batou is an especially popular character. Playing him is Ren Yagami who made his debut as Seiichi Yukimura in the Prince of Tennis musicals and has since starred in dramas and movies including Gokusen and GodHand Teru. He has also starred in many 2.5D plays including Sengoku Basara, Danganronpa, and Kamisama Kiss.
Starring as Borma is Yutaka Matsuzaki whose previous starring roles include Kei Tanishi in the Prince of Tennis musicals, Jäger, Ghost Saint of Orion in the super musical Saint Seiya, and Rikio Kamamoto in the stage play of K. Ibachi is being played by Shungo Takasaki, a young actor who has starred in movies and Hamatora the Stage: Crossing Time. Playing Thied is Asami Yoshikawa who has starred in the stage plays for Blood-C and Persona 4 the Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena.
