Japanese Artist Receives Best Artist Title at Switzerland’s Biggest Anime Event

At Polymanga, Switzerland’s biggest anime convention, the results were announced for the international artist competition, Golden Pass Polymanga. The greatest works from around the globe were elected for the contest and applicant Munashichi from Japan won the competition!

Golden Pass Polymanga is a unique artist competition that is part of Polymanga, the leading anime convention in Europe. From August until November 2012, applicants submitted a total of about 200 works with the theme “My Last Cat Drawing Before the End of the World”. Munashichi’s illustration featured a young boy and a cat amidst a future metropolis.

This year’s Polymanga will be held from Mar. 29 - Apr. 1, 2013 near Lake Leman in Montreux. The convention is planned to be packed with other exciting events including a cosplay contest, artist alley, and events featuring guests from Japan.
