We recently introduced the idol unit Otome Shinto, who were chosen to perform the opening theme to the TV anime GJ-bu. However, we thought we would delve a bit deeper into the group. Let’s take a close look at the girls that make up this popular unit.
Otome Shinto is made up of the members Wakana Aoi, Chika Arakawa, Yurika Takahashi, and Ayame Tajiri. Each of the girls represents a different color. Aoi is blue, Arakawa is red, Takahashi is pink, and Tajiri is yellow. Arakawa also made her acting debut as the character Kirara Bernstein in the anime GJ-bu.
As is evident from their color assignments, Otome Shinto is the successor group to Japan’s hugely popular idol group Momoiro Clover Z, for which they are being highly praised. The lyrics for their debut single “Mousou Koukan Nikki” were written by Kenichi Maeyamada (aka Hyadain), who also worked on many songs for Momoiro Clover Z. This further cements Otome Shinto’s place as the successor group to Momoiro Clover Z. Look forward to seeing this group much more as they become even bigger!
