Kenshin Blu-ray and DVD Sales Surpass 76,000 Copies

The Blu-ray and DVD for the film adaption of Nobuhiro Watsuki’s popular manga Rurouni Kenshin has received favorable sales.

The impressive sales are no surprise since the box-office earnings for the film were also huge, totaling three billion yen. The normal and first press limited versions of the DVD and Blu-ray released simultaneously on Dec. 26, 2012. The limited DVD ranked in at number one on the Oricon Daily Ranking, while the regular version ranked in at number two. Only three weeks after the release, unit sales have surpassed 76,000. It’s clear to see that the film has gathered great support from fans who want to watch it again and again.

The limited version, which came in a special digipak case, included a behind-the-scene photo booklet featuring Takeru Satoh, who played Kenshin Himura, and the complete script. Unfortunately the limited versions have already sold out since only 4000 units were produced.

We hope you were lucky enough to snag a limited version!
