Both having the goal of ending the war and restoring peace, the Demon Queen and Hero form a pact. Hero and Queen travel to a small village called Winter Pass, where Queen is given an identity as a human noblewoman. They devise a plan to improve the village’s agricultural system, and they visit the village elder to get his approval. However, he denies their request. That night, suspicious shadows are seen sneaking into the villa at which Hero and Queen are staying.

After the Demon Queen talks about reforming the agricultural system to help the poor and hungry, fans are treated to a scene in which Queen and Hero flirt with each other. However, in the middle of this, two sisters trying to flee a life of slavery sneak into the villa.
Queen’s trusted servant, Head Maid, hurls insults at the sisters, saying, “You are insects for living a life of not being able to seize your fate. I don’t think those who are content with the life of an insect are human.” However, she implicitly gives them a chance.
Regarding the Head Maid’s actions, many fans agreed with her on anime message boards, saying things like, “I hate her without a doubt, but she is fair, and she makes a good character.”
This story is not a completely one-sided battle and love story. It gives the message that “those who live a life only relying on others are not truly living. You have to rely on yourself and just do it!” Look forward to the next episode.
