On Dec. 29, 2012, it was announced that the Infinite Stratos Project is being rebooted. The announcement was made on the anime’s official site. Infinite Stratos (*IS*) began as a popular light novel by Izuru Yumizuru. Furthermore, an all-night event for IS was also announced. The event, which will feature a screening of the entire anime, will take place on April 20 at 10 pm and last until 5 am the next morning.
IS is a popular series known as a “mecha x bishojo high speed school battle love comedy”. In 2011, all 12 episodes of the TV anime were broadcast. The story takes place in the future during a time when powerful mecha suits called Infinite Stratos, which can only be piloted by women, are created, leading to a society that is dominated by women instead of men. The story is set in a school established to train women in how to use the IS, into which the main character, a male named Ichika Orimura who inexplicable has the ability to pilot IS, is enrolled. However, all of his classmates are girls! Thus begins his action-packed, love comedy high school life.
At the all-night event to be held this spring, all 12 episodes of the TV anime as well as the OVA will be screened. Also, members of the cast, including Koki Urayama, Yoko Hikasa, Asami Shimoda, and Marina Inoue, will be attending the event and participating in a special talk panel. The event will take place at the Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro as well as broadcast live via Livespire on 11 screens in five cities.
Tickets for the event cost 3,800 yen, and a ticket raffle will also take place. Tickets for Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro went on sale on Feb. 1 and tickets for the other locations will go on sale on Mar. 1. Fans who buy a ticket will also receive the eighth volume of the IS manga (regular edition). The manga is set to be published in Overlap’s inaugural edition of its publication Overlap Bunko, which will be released on April 25. Don’t miss your chance to snag this manga before anyone else!
