Chopper from “One Piece” Becomes Tofu!

With the record breaking popularity of One Piece Film Z, which has broken through six billion yen in box office revenue, One Piece is quickly becoming the national anime of Japan. It’s popularity can be greatly attributed to the vast amount of popular characters in the series. One such character, who is especially popular with females and children, is Tony Tony Chopper. Whenever character popularity polls are conducted, he is always in the top five.

On Jan. 20, a collaboration item between Chopper and tofu, one of Japan’s staple foods, was released. The collaboration item is called Chopper Tofu. Japanese tofu is made using soybeans, brine, and water. Due to it being low in calories, it is especially popular among females who are dieting. Keeping in line with Chopper’s love of sweets, the collaboration tofu is actually a sweet tofu made with brown sugar syrup and soybean flour. The cost of a Chopper Tofu is 198 yen. This item is sure to be popular with a wide range of One Piece fans and non-fans alike!
