The Anime Version of Kotoura-san Is Set to Begin Airing Next January!

Things keep getting brighter for the original manga “Kotoura-san”, created by Enokizu. The 4-koma manga began serialization on Mangaccha (http://mangag.com), a website that features original manga, and is now becoming an anime. The anime will begin airing in January 2013 on CBC, Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and AT-X.

Kotoura-san is a romantic comedy revolving around a highschool girl named Haruka Kotoura who can read people’s innermost desires, and how she tries to use this gift to win the heart of her crush, Yoshihisa Manabe. The manga’s website has already been accessed by more than 7.5 million people, and over 100,000 copies of the manga have been sold. It is from this kind of fan dedication that the manga is now able to become an anime.

The cast for the anime has also been announced. The main characters, Haruka Kotoura and Yoshihisa Manabe, will be voiced by Hisako Kanemoto, who is known for her role in Smile Precure as the voice of Kise Yayoi (Cure Peace), and Jun Fukushima, a well known voice actor who has lent his talent to many anime series. The anime is being directed by Masahiko Oota, whose past work includes “Mitsudomoe” and “Minami-ke”, and the character designer for the anime is Takaharu Okuma, whose past work includes “Hikaru no Go” and “Hanaukyo Maid Team”. January can’t come fast enough!
