This is an exceptionally well-executed piece. The composition, color palette, and background are all of a high standard. The judges were torn between the Grand Prize winner and this work until the very end. The reason it missed the Grand Prize is the lack of impact. While it is well put together, to be blunt, it didn't convey the captivating charm that draws you in. However, as mentioned initially, the overall execution is outstanding, so I look forward to the artist's next piece. I am confident that they will submit even more captivating photographs in the future.
I am impressed by the outstanding lighting that accentuates the texture and smoothness of the skin together with the enchanting and elegant composition that highlights the blue, red, and green colors. I also commend the meticulous focus on every aspect YUZURUHA, the subject, wishes to showcase. Personally, I believe that a slight trimming of the left and bottom sides of the figure could enhance the overall balance and make it an even more cohesive piece. Congratulations on winning First Place!
Congratulations on winning First Place! The captivating presentation is beautiful, and the combination of the black background, blue lighting, and arrangement of the trees is eye-catching. The way the light flows diagonally from the upper right to the lower left, leading your gaze naturally, is particularly impressive.
The mysterious and enchanting aura of the figures, set against the backdrop of the night, makes this piece highly captivating. The composition, reminiscent of the Japanese Mikaeri Bijin (Beauty Looking Back) painting, has a simple yet compelling force that draws one in. The lighting, bringing out the gloss of the figure's skin, the flow of hair, wrinkles in the kimono, and the overall curvaceous beauty, is masterfully executed. Congratulations on winning First Place!
This piece makes me feel like I'm walking down the street at night and stumbling into a yokai... The composition is beautifully crafted. The perfect arrangement of the trees, the overall diagonal flow of the composition, and the gaze that draws you in create a mesmerizing scene. The light hitting the figure and the mist-like blue glow in the background contribute to an eerie atmosphere. It's a simple yet captivating ukiyo-e-like composition. Congratulations on winning First Place!
This is an incredibly cool piece. It stood out prominently among the many submissions. It might be because there were fewer monochrome photos in this round of submissions. Technically, the excellence of the black and white arrangement using the rule of thirds is outstanding. I personally believe that composition is everything in a photograph, and I was strongly drawn to the perfection of the composition in this piece. If I were to suggest one improvement, it would be the lack of a clear focal point. While the overall presentation is cohesive, it's a bit regrettable that the most important element, whether it's the face or the backside, is not clearly defined. Looking forward to your next piece!
The impressive decision to trim the figure, discarding the overwhelming scale of the entire body, including the hair that spreads on the floor, and the use of the pole as the boundary between white and black, show an outstanding sense of creativity! This work goes beyond the simplistic notion of 'black and white equals stylish' and instead demonstrates a deliberate choice of monochrome to achieve a specific effect. Congratulations on winning First Place!
Congratulations on winning First Place! This monochromatic piece not only emphasizes details but also achieves an eye-catching balance by using the Rule of Thirds by dedicating one-third of the piece to black.
The photo subject possesses a lot of volume and intricate details, yet the deliberate close-up composition and black-and-white photography create a powerful image that conveys a sense of mass. The contrast between the cute bunny and the monochrome photo's coolness is captivating, and the intentional darkness on the right side adds to the overall impression. Congratulations on winning the First Place!
This work, with its simple yet powerful composition in black and white, immediately catches the eye. The clear separation of colors with the pole, and the glimpse of white, like swallowtail tails, within the black, show a great attention to detail. The positioning of the bunny on the white side is well-balanced, and the silhouette work is skillful. Congratulations on winning First Place!
This piece brings a lot of images to mind. The large trunk, a person gazing intently at their smartphone with a somewhat melancholic expression, the blue sky, and the blue sea. Personally, I feel strong, saddening emotions from the artwork. It makes me think of the feeling of parting with a lover, embarking on a solo journey, and then suddenly noticing your phone, thinking, "Maybe he messaged me," or possibly browsing through texts from when the lovers were close. Could she be looking at old photographs of them? Viewing this piece, multiple stories unfold, each creating a unique narrative. Despite being an artwork from someone abroad, it remarkably captures a very Japanese sentiment, suggesting a deep understanding of Japan. It's wonderful. Personally, I love this piece, so I have high expectations for your next piece. I'll be looking forward to it!
The world of Pop Team Epic is perfectly captured here! I burst into laughter the moment I saw it! The color scheme is stylish, too! That's about it for what I'd like to say, but realistically speaking, microwaves don't glow in these colors. The use of dark humor and meticulous artistic detailing brings this piece to life. Who can keep their microwave this clean, anyway? Congrats!
This is the cross-genre street fight between Ryu and Luffy that I've always wanted to see. I wonder if the photographer also does martial arts. The execution is flawless, with Ryu's kicking technique and Luffy's foot placement capturing a dynamic essence. Not only Ryu and Luffy but also the arrangement of figures in the background, including Satoru Gojo, Naruto, Chun-Li, Sagat, and more, create an enjoyable piece that is reminiscent of the Street Fighter series gallery. It never gets boring to look at.
This piece beautifully captures the delicate beauty of the figure, exuding a divine essence. While the overall impression is serene, the composition cleverly introduces depth by revealing flowing hair in the foreground and partially blurring the arm and dress in the background. It achieves a harmonious balance between tranquility and impactful imagery. Congratulations on your award!
A beautiful silhouette emerges under the striking two-tone lights of distinctive shapes! The deliberate decision to present the figure as a shadow is bold. Instead of making the silhouette entirely black, the light revolves around the contours, revealing the finer details of the body. The combination of the coolness of light and silhouette, the subtle lighting, is truly amazing. Congratulations on being a Finalist!

"Powerful." That single word says it all. Compared to other works, I felt a strong energetic presence. Speaking technically, the meticulous construction of the background stands out first. By building the background to complement the subject's image, the subject appears even more captivating. Furthermore, the use of foreground blur adds depth. Next is the splendid use of color in the subject. Matching the background color to the subject's color creates a cohesive and harmonious viewing experience without any sense of discord. There are other remarkable aspects besides these two, but the list could go on indefinitely, so I'll leave it at that, haha. Anyway, it was an outstanding piece that immediately grabs your attention. Without a doubt, it deserves the Grand Prize. Congratulations!
Even though this Nago is an action figure, she has the perfect pose as if the sculptor decided right from the start that, "If she's going to play the guitar, this is how!" It exudes the presence of a skilled guitarist. The use of backdrop items like the truss results in a piece that captures the impression of a stage. Congratulations on winning the Grand Prize!
Congratulations on winning the Grand Prize! Your work was truly magnificent, evoking the atmosphere of a guitarist on a rock 'n' roll star's stage. While being very careful not to show off the action figure's range of motion, the background design and lighting made a stunning impact on the pictures.
This work shows a high level of overall excellence, encompassing composition, color palette, lighting, figure poses, and small details in the setup. Particularly striking is the use of warm tones, giving a cool and rigid impression, which is very impactful and captivating. The backdrop resembling a crumbling stage enhances the charm of the figure subjects. Despite being a relatively petite character among the Kamen Riders, the figure's design, while cute, remarkably emphasizes coolness over cuteness. Congratulations on winning the Grand Prize!
The pose with the guitar, the stage-like background, and the overall setup are excellent. The coordination of Kamen Rider Nargo's colors with the matching lights is very impressive. It almost gives off a cool poster-like vibe, where various elements are present yet somehow appear cohesive. Congratulations on winning the Grand Prize!
