As one of the biggest video game companies in the world, Nintendo has been delivering fun across the globe since the creation of the Nintendo Entertainment System (or Famicom as it’s called in Japan) in 1985.

Established in 1889, Nintendo first created playing cards before venturing into the video game industry in the 1970s, eventually becoming the iconic company that people all around the world know and love today. Nintendo has created some of the most famous and incredibly popular video game franchises, including Mario, Pokémon, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Animal Crossing, loads more!

From handheld systems like the GameBoy and 3DS, to consoles like the Nintendo 64, GameCube and the Wii U, for decades Nintendo has been winning video game fans over with its innovative creations, and in 2016 the company made its first foray into the world of smartphone apps with the instant hit Miitomo.
