Eir Aoi is a massively popular J-pop singer from Sapporo, Hokkaido who is currently signed with SME Records.
Eir Aoi’s debut single, “Memoria,” released in 2011, was selected as the first ending theme for the Fate/Zero anime. Her second single, “Aurora,” released in 2012, was also used as the fourth opening theme to Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, and her third single, “Innocence,” featured as the second opening theme song of the Sword Art Online anime adaptation.
Blau, Eir Aoi’s debut album, was released in 2013 as was her fourth single, “Cobalt Sky.” Her fifth single released in the same year, “Sirius,” became the opening theme to the smash hit series Kill la Kill with her song “Sanbika” also featured throughout the series.
In 2014, Aoi released her sixth single, “Niji no Oto,” which was used as the opening theme for the special OVA Sword Art Online: Extra Edition, and her seventh single, “Ignite,” was also used as an opening for Sword Art Online II. Her eighth single, “Tsunagaru Omoi,” was the opening theme for the TBS show Rank Oukoku, while her ninth single, “Genesis,” released in 2015, was used as the ending theme for Aldnoah.Zero, and her 10th single, “Lapis Lazuli,” was the ending theme for The Heroic Legend of Arslan. The digital single “Cynthia no Hikari” was also used as the opening song for the Sword Art Online: Lost Song video game.
After releasing her second album, Aube, in 2014, 2015 saw her release her third studio album titled D’Azur followed by her 11th single, “Shoegazer,” and 12th, “Accentier,” which was released in March 2016 and was used as the opening theme for the PS Vita game Digimon World: Next Order.
