When I told haraKIRI’s brand designer Mr. Yoshizaka about this concept and project, he didn’t show joy or hope for this collaboration with Ghost in the Shell but rather humility backed by a true sense of seriousness about collaborating with this series he has loved for many years.
I also remember he had something like a resoluteness to give everything in exchange for life, which is also the brand concept.
The uncompromising worldview of Ghost in the Shell
When reducing it to the substance of accessories, we continued brainstorming while considering the necessary aspects of the series’ worldview and the resoluteness of haraKIRI. We came up with a number of ideas, and among them we proposed seven items that truly should be delivered to Ghost in the Shell fans.
We have had dozens of concept and design meetings with Mr. Yoshizaka and have repeatedly fine-tuned them in Tokyo with craftsmen who can create detailed molds by hand. The collaboration accessories, which are sublimated into the ultimate shapes and designs, are works of art that will excite not only Ghost in the Shell fans but all fans of silver accessories as well.
[haraKIRI]
haraKIRI is a Japanese domestic silver accessory brand. The brand was launched in 2003 by Takashi Yoshizaka and has developed rings, pendants, and wallet chains themed after skulls and snakes with a profoundly deep approach and commitment to craftsmanship. haraKIRI has collaborated with many brands to date including Roman, Roar, Backbone, Isamu Katayama Backlash, Dita, Headliner, Garcon Shinois, and others. Due to the brand’s unique worldview, many musicians and artists are customers, and it has a cult following all over the world.
