Ririchiyo Shirakiin is the 15-year-old daughter of a noble family and descendent of an oni who has been sheltered her whole life and dependent on those around her. After deciding to leave her home to experience living on her own, she takes up residence at Ayakashi Kan, an exclusive, highly secure apartment building at which prospective residents must pass a strict exam in order to live. There, she meets a cast of colorful and eccentric characters, each of which is half-human and half-youkai like her, including an outspoken tanuki girl named Banri, a narcissistic half-oni named Kagero who calls himself Ririchiyo’s fiance, and a cross-dressing maid named Ayumu. As a requirement of living at Ayakashi Kan, she is accompanied by an agent from the Secret Service named Soushi Miketsukami, a nine-tailed spirit fox who takes the form of an attractive human male and whom she calls her “Dog.” With so many quirky neighbors to deal with, not to mention a clingy and submissive bodyguard who is at her beck and call 24/7, Ririchiyo’s life is about to get a whole lot more interesting!
In Vol. 3, just when Ririchiyo starts getting used to her eventful life at Ayakashi Kan a big change is on the way for her and Soushi!
