Damn that's painful to read(live in ontario too), I wanted it myself but this is insane, it's more expensive than buying all the figures separately. Hell, you don't even get the dang thing until June 2021 which is more than enough time to regret the purchase and don't expect it to deliver on time either. My guess is that it's gonna get pushed back at least a few months if not more.
Gonna cross my fingers and hope there's a better deal or higher discount later in the year, if not well thats 621.55 I saved?
...or maybe I'll just the sakura one that's really my priority

If you count the very large amount of points, which is the EMS shipping cost refunded as well as the figure's bonus, it is comparable in price to Amiami if AMIAMI's EMS shipping was only around 22$ (60$ is more accurate imho). The differences being that you have to convert about 100$ from USD to TOM points and pay up front instead of on delivery.

It depends on whether the TOM points will buy a figure on clearance or something to that effect.

I would say this is one of those times where I think this actually edges out.

except the point that those points are basically just money back on already overpriced items. if your paying 100 bucks for an 80 item, then youve just spent 20 more then you should have. so "getting 20 off that next fig" isn't really getting 20 off... since you already over paid 20 from teh last one

then you could look at it the shipping route. if you do count toms points back then its like you dont pay shipping here which by my original math is already 85 bucks higher then amiami. amiami shipping almost certainly wont be that AND you can pay idk.... next dec when this item will likely actually get released

EMS shipping is pretty hefty these days, I would say 60$ is pretty accurate. So the calculation is whether 85$ savings off the figures is worth both the actual EMS cost plus the 60 bucks in TOM points (40$ in TOM points given expressly for EMS vs the 40$ charge for EMS.).

The time of the charge is more important for people, tbh, and mostly only matters in that currency fluctuation between now and when this big thing ships will cause the actual price from a Japanese store to change a bit, possibly for the better, but also possibly worse.

Seems like TOM figures are overpriced but when you factor in all the variables, they do seem to be very competitive. I have found that sometimes they come out ahead and other times they do not. If you are willing to do the math, they can be a great place to shop. Also, sometimes they carry figures that are out of stock elsewhere or were never offered to begin with. I've been wanting to eliminate that membership fee for some time now but just can't seem to walk away.

It seems like there's much higher markups and less good promos than they used to have. I've been waiting months for a good % off sale to use my points and it's just not happening.
It also sucks that they removed free shipping for Canadians from their US warehouse... and a year ago added the customs upfront for Canadians...

I’ve noticed that as well, they aren’t handing out as many coupons as they use too, if they do it’s only 10%. It’s a shame.

Ya 2 years ago when I got into figure buying TOM was giving out so many 30% coupon and 30% point backs that year. But the last like over half year barely any point events and no coupon for ages.

lets not talk about their new thing of limiting the amount of points you can use on an item. 20% max for non premium and 50% for premium. So you over pay on a bunch of figs to get an amount of points to blow on a new fig that is "free"+shipping but not anymore.

glad i spent the rest of mine. just happened to be like a day before it rolled out lol and with that ill be done with tom.... before they sink hopefully
