Natsume’s Book of Friends is the popular manga and anime franchise created by Yuri Midorikawa in which the hero, Takashi Natsume inherited the power to see spirits from his grandmother. When his grandmother died, she also left him the book of all the creatures she’d subdued into servitude which Takashi then decides to free. Nyanko-sensei is Takashi’s friend and bodyguard who is really a yokai trapped in the body of a lucky-cat.
