Prices for each plush depends on the size, but often range between $15 and $50.

Examples of Chocobo Plush Figures

Here are some examples of popular Chocobo plush toys that are available.

  • There is an adorable plush that features a Chocobo that decided to lay down for a nap. It’s soft and cuddly texture would make for a fantastic sleep partner. This plush is listed at approximately $47.99.

  • The Chocobo outfits from Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon have also inspired a variety of plush toys as well. There are four different versions of this plush to choose from: red mage, white mage, knight, and freelancer. The first three plushes can be purchased for $34.99, while the freelancer Chocobo is only $27.99, due to its simpler design.

  • A smaller, palm-sized Chocobo plush is available for $17.99. While it can simply be used as a room decoration, it can also be attached to a bag using the loop that is attached to the plush itself.

  • Two different Chocobo plush cushions are available through online sellers. The first resembles the face of a classic Chocobo and makes for a perfect pillow to nap on. The other cushion takes the shape of the Fat Chocobo from Final Fantasy XIV. The prices for these items are $35.99 and $49.99 respectively.

  • A special Chocobo plush was also designed for the 30th anniversary of Final Fantasy. The Chocobo has a shield commemorating the milestone and wears a removable helmet that is based on the Warrior of Light. It is available for purchase for $34.99.

About Chocobos
Chocobos are a recurring animal in the Final Fantasy franchise, a collection of role-playing style games and other media produced by Square Enix. They first appeared in Final Fantasy II and were conceived by Koichi Ishii. They could be compared to Final Fantasy’s equivalent of a horse, as they help players get around quickly, pull carts, and perform other related activities. Chocobos are often considered one of the franchise’s mascots since they have appeared in virtually every single Final Fantasy game to date. The adorable birds have even inspired game titles where they themselves are the central figures, like Chocobo Racing and Chocobo Mystery Dungeon. Chocobos have inspired quite a number of pieces of merchandise, including Chocobo coffee mugs, Chocobo rubber ducks, Chocobos costumes and, of course, plush toys. Chocobos are one of the oldest and most iconic video game creations ever and their popularity may only be truly rivaled by Moogles, another mascot-like character from the Final Fantasy franchise.

Appearance

Chocobos are often depicted as yellow, flightless birds that walk on two legs that each have three talons. The beak of a Chocobo is similarly yellow or orange, depending on the depiction in question. While the most common Chocobos are yellow, there are other breeds that are stronger and capable of things like swimming and flight. These breeds are rare, but come in a variety of colors that often depict their strength, with gold Chocobos being the strongest. It turns out that they may have been derived from an ancient species of bird called the Gastornis, which share the Chocobo’s bipedal, flightless features.

Description

Chocobo’s have a diverse number of appearances and have evolved over the years. In Final Fantasy II Chocobos usually live in grasslands and snowfields. If they are threatened they can be dangerous and pose a risk, but they can warm up to players easily and will help them with high-speed travel and crossing physical obstacles like rivers. When they are caught in the wild, they also can be ridden to avoid random enemy encounters. Chocobos enjoy eating Gysahl Greens. A special Chocobo named Boko went on to reappear in later installments of the series and its name was recycled numerous times. In Final Fantasy IV, a black colored Chocobo species is encountered that is capable of fighting, and in Final Fantasy XIII, Sazh Katzroy keeps a baby Chocobo as a pet. In Final Fantasy XI, players are able to raise and even breed Chocobos, an activity that appears as a sidequest in several other games. In many games, they are able to be summoned in battle, while they have the ability to fly in others. The ruler of the Chocobos is called the Fat Chocobo, an unusually large Chocobo that is able to speak and wield magical powers that can influence its subordinate Chocobos.
