Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2024 (KYOMAF) is one of a few major anime and manga events in western Japan. This year’s event was also hosted at Miyako Messe/Rome Theater, and other venues around Kyoto, from September 21st to 22nd.
Over 35,000 people attended KYOMAF 2024 to buy merchandise, attend talk sessions of their favorite voice actors, enjoy exhibitor booths, visit the character café, and experience the unique collaboration of anime/manga in one of Japan’s most traditional cities! There are so many fun experiences to be had at the event!
Tokyo Otaku Mode (TOM), powered by MAG.NET, was among the exhibitors featured at KYOMAF 2024! We attended KYOMAF in 2017 with a focus on original merch from our TOM Projects label! While that included four items, this year we partnered with MAG.NET to bring an even wider selection of cool merchandise to fans!
Our booth was located on the 1st floor of Miyako Messe, and it was quite the spectacle! The first thing you noticed were the TOM logo and branded skateboards! The decks could be purchased, and they featured Hololive Meet’s 2024 members, Hatsune Miku World is Mine 2024, Frieren, and Detective Conan! This became a focal point and photo spot of the booth that we think resonated well with attendees.
Once people walked in, they were treated to a feast of goods spanning classic anime of the past to 2024’s trending anime!
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
Jujutsu Kaisen
Kaiju No. 8
Detective Conan
Tetsuwan Atom
Uzumaki Goods
We also sold Hatsune Miku and Hololive Meet merch, which can still be purchased online by international fans today from the TOM Shop!
While much of the goods were being sold on the 1st floor, Miyako Messe’s 3rd floor was filled with fun photo spots and booths from exhibitors like Good Smile Company, Hololive Production, anime production studios, and many more!
We believe international visitors and local residents that stopped by found the TOM booth to be a fun time, and our staff really enjoyed meeting everyone!
KYOMAF 2024 was a packed weekend, but we think if you love manga and anime, want to check out original merch, and experience the traditional beauty of Kyoto, then you should add the event to your to-do list!
