Samura Hiroaki’s manga Blade of the Immortal will be getting a new “complete” anime adaptation.
The series was first adapted as a TV anime in 2008. The story follows Manji, a former samurai cursed with immortality, and his quest to help a young woman trying to avenge the deaths of her parents at the hands of a destructive swordsman.
The latest anime will reportedly be a “complete” adaptation, but no further details have been revealed.
A sequel to the original manga, Mugen no Junin - Bakumatsu no Sho, also began serialization in Issue 7 of Afternoon published on May 25.
