Pop Team Epic’s wacky duo Popuko and Pipimi will be back on Apr. 1, 2019 for an all-new TV special!
The announcement was made at the end of “Pop Team Epic Special Event - Pop Cast Epic!!” held on Sept. 15 and 16. No details aside from the broadcast date were made clear.
The event also saw a host of stage appearances from the cast and staff, plus surprise appearances from popular singer Aoi Shouta and Hisashi of renowned rock band GLAY.
Pop Team Epic is a four-panel digital manga series originally created by Okawa Bkub. Following the surreal lives of 14-year-old girls Popuko and Pipimi, the series gained popularity for its bizarre humor and pop culture parodies. It then went on to be serialized in manga magazine Manga Life Win from 2014, and was also adapted by Kamikaze Douga into a TV anime that ran in early 2018.
