Popular gourmet series Isekai Izakaya “Nobu” will receive a TV anime adaptation set to premiere on Oct. 2!
Isekai Izakaya “Nobu” follows the working lives of owner Yazawa "Nobu" Nobuyuki and server Senke Shinobu, who run a small artisan tavern called “Izakaya Nobu”. Though part of the intrigue certainly comes from their special alcohols and decadent dishes, a lot of it is also due to their unusual patrons, who seem to come from an entirely different world called “Aitheria”.
Written by Semikawa Natsuya and illustrated by Kururi, the series originally began as a light novel released on self-publishing novel site Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2012. After winning the grand prize for Shousetsuka ni Narou’s “Ni Narou Con Taishou", the light novels were acquired by Takarajimasha in 2014. A manga adaptation illustrated by Nitouhei Virginia also began serialization in Young Ace in Jul. 2015.
The series has also been adapted into an ongoing original net animation series through Sunrise, which premiered in Apr. 2018. Titled Isekai Izakaya ~Koto Aitheria no Izakaya Nobu~, it has garnered over 20 million views since its debut. The ONA’s director Ono Katsumi will return for the TV anime.
The TV anime will premiere at Oct. 2, 1:00 am on BS11. Fans can also watch through J:COM TV and various streaming options. Those overseas will be able to enjoy it online through Crunchyroll (excluding Asia) and bilibili (for viewers in Asia).
Ahead of the premiere, fans in Tokyo can also enjoy a bit of Isekai Izakaya “Nobu” at Asakusa's Samurai Hotel, which is offering original bentos that includes nine types of dishes featured in the original work. Anime Film Festival Tokyo will also be screening Isekai Izakaya “Nobu” on Oct. 19.
Isekai Izakaya “Nobu” is slated to premiere on Oct. 2.
