Tiger & Bunny is set for a big budget Hollywood adaptation thanks to a landmark collaboration between Bandai Namco Pictures and US production companies Global Road Entertainment, Imagine Entertainment, and Weed Road Pictures.
The English language live action adaptation will be scripted by Ellen Shanman and produced by Bandai Namco’s Osaka Masayuki, Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer, Ron Howard and Erica Huggins, and Weed Road Pictures’ Akiva Goldsman.
Tiger & Bunny first premiered in 2011 as an original anime by Sunrise. Set in the futuristic city of Stern Bild, superpowered humans known as “NEXT” take part in a reality TV show where they solve crimes and save lives live on air. Veteran hero Tiger is teamed with the dashing Bunny and the two become rivals until a super-powered terrorist eventually forces them to combine forces.
While specific release dates are yet to be revealed, fans can first look forward to new anime Double Decker! Doug & Kirill from the creators of Tiger & Bunny, set to broadcast sometime in 2018.
