Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Treasure Island, has unveiled a new trailer featuring its theme song "Doraemon" by singer-songwriter Hoshino Gen.
The 38th and latest instalment in the long-running series of Doraemon movies, Nobita's Treasure Island follows Nobita and friends on a seafaring adventure to find lost treasure on a mysterious island which has just appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the Pacific.
Imai Kazuaki, who has previously directed many episodes of the TV anime, will be making his big screen directorial debut while Kawamura Genki, the producer behind The Boy and the Beast and Your Name, will handle the script.
In addition to the regular cast from the TV anime, the movie will also feature a number of high profile guest stars including TV personality and actor Oizumi You.
The new theme song will receive its first full playthrough on Jan. 16 as part of Hoshino Gen’s radio talk show, All Night Nippon, and will also be released as a CD single on Feb. 28. Hoshino is also to provide another insert song for the movie.
Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Treasure Island is set to premiere in cinemas across Japan from March 3.
