The long-awaited film Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry premiered in Japan on May 6, and an exciting stage greeting took place to commemorate its release!
Created by Mashima Hiro, Fairy Tail has been serialized in Monthly Shounen Magazine since August 2006 and has enjoyed an impressive amount of success throughout the world. Dragon Cry marks the second film the series, with Phoenix Priestess being the first.
Kakihara Tetsuya (as Dragneel Natsu), Hirano Aya (as Lucy Heartfilia), and Kugimiya Rie (as Happy) were members of the main cast that made an appearance. Takao Yuki and Akaneya Himika, members of the unit POLKA DOTS that performed the theme song, were also in attendance. Of course, Mashima himself was there as well.
Fans were treated to all sorts of interesting topics, with the guests speaking to the continued success of Fairy Tail, their personal feelings on the arcs and characters, and even the story behind the Dragon Cry theme song itself.
At the very end of the stage greeting, Mashima stood on stage and thanked everyone, and hoped they would be satisfied with the way his story turns out as Fairy Tail is in its final arc. To the surprise of all the attendees, everyone was gifted with the 200-page storyboard book that Dragon Cry is based off of! Talk about a welcome surprise!
Snagging a copy of that book might prove difficult considering it’s in limited supply, but the film is for all Fairy Tail fans to enjoy~
