In This Corner of the World broke box office records with its release in November 2016, and a new exhibition in Shibuya will be showing attendees how it all began with original artwork from the manga which inspired the movie.

Set in Hiroshima during the war, In This Corner of the World is the story of an ordinary girl, Suzu. Released in 2009, the manga was widely praised and won the 13th The Japan Media Arts Festival manga award. The exhibition will feature around 130 pieces of beautiful color original artwork from the production of the manga as well as research notes and other important materials. Visitors to the exhibition will receive a bonus postcard featuring a brand new period-inspired illustration.

A commemorative book will also be on sale at the exhibition alongside picture books, signed prints, badges, clear files, postcard sets, tote bags and T-shirts. Limited edition hand signed prints featuring some of the artwork seen in the exhibition in high quality digital reproductions will also be available for 30,000 - 40,000 yen.
