Sword Art Online will have officially printed 20 million copies of its light novel series on Apr. 25!
Kadokawa also announced that the first Sword Art Online light novel “Aincrad” will have officially printed 1 million copies on the same date. Pretty impressive considering “Aincrad” first released in Apr. 2009!
This milestone is a first for any title under the Kadokawa/ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko label. To celebrate, all “Aincrad” copies printed after April will come with a special wraparound sleeve announcing the volume’s success.
Kawahara Reki’s action sci-fi series continues to gain popularity all across the globe. Its newest film Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale just successfully released back in Feb., and an American live action TV adaptation is currently in the works as well!
