The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. Live-action Film Reveals Additional Cast and Visuals!

With the role of reluctant psychic Saiki K. having been announced as Yamazaki Kento last year, even more cast members have been revealed in this special teaser for Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan ( The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. ), along with tons of character visuals!

Yamazaki begins the video with a wry pickup on Japanese netizens' reactions to his live-action exploits: "Isn't Yamazaki doing too many live-actions now?" It's true that he's no stranger to live-action adaptions of anime and manga, his latest role being Higashikata Josuke in JoJo's Bizarre Adventures, set to premiere in August. However, in continuing his narration, he slips easily into his role as Saiki and declares himself as a psychic - and that's when the other cast members (and the director!) come in, all conspicuously live-action veterans themselves!

To begin with, director Fukuda Yuichi has made a name for himself with well-loved live-action adaptions like Hentai Kamen and Yuusha Yoshihiko. And we can't forget the highly-anticipated Gintama film, coming to theaters this summer!

As for the cast, Hashimoto Kanna (portraying Teruhashi Kokomi) has definitely been a hot topic lately due to her role as Kagura in Gintama.

The rest of the cast have also had experience with at least one high-profile live-action adaption! The remaining members announced include Arai Hirofumi as Nendou Riki, Muro Tsuyoshi as Chouno Uryoku, Yoshizawa Ryou as Kaitou Shun, Kasahara Hideyuki as Hairo Kineshi, Kaku Kento as Kuboyasu Aren, and Satou Jirou as Kanda Binsuke.

Originally a manga by Asou Shuichi, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump from May 2012, and has gathered countless fans for its wacky premise and the sheer comedy that ensues.

Its live-action adaption will be coming to theaters Oct. 21, 2017, so stay tuned for more updates!
