Go Back to School with My Hero Academia! Refresh Your Memory of Season 1 with Special Broadcast

Season 2 of My Hero Academia is due to hit the airwaves this March on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV networks every Saturday from 5:30 pm beginning on March 25. If you want to refresh your memory before the new season starts, you can also tune into a special catch-up program titled My Hero Academia Hero Note before the first broadcast.

This special episode is inspired by the notebooks the series protagonist, Midoriya Izuku, keeps as he attempts to become the best of heroes. Collecting the most essential elements from season 1 alongside a few new scenes, this special episode is the best way to “revise” before the new season starts.

Volume 12 of the manga and the light novel adaptation Boku no Hero Academia: Eiyu Hakusho 2 are also set for release on the same day - Feb. 3, with manga volume 13 following on April 4, and volume 14 which will come bundled with an anime DVD on June 2.

My Hero Academia is an ongoing superhero-themed manga by Horikoshi Kohei published in Weekly Shonen Champion. Set in a world where about 80% of the population have some kind of superpower known as “Quirks,” the story follows the adventures of Quirkless Midoriya Izuku and his journey into the famous hero cultivating academy, U.A. High School. The series has proved overwhelmingly popular, selling over 7.5 million copies so far.

The first season of the anime adaptation was broadcast from April to June 2016 and starred Yamashita Daiki in the lead role alongside Miyake Kenta, Okamoto Nobuhiko, and Sakura Ayane. Directed by Nagasaki Kenji, other members of the creative team included Kuroda Yosuke (series composition), and Umakoshi Yoshihiko (character design/animation director) who each continue in their roles for season 2 which is also being produced by Bones.
