Curtain to Rise on New Touken Ranbu Musical This Spring! Main Visual & Performers Revealed!

Touken Ranbu, a browser game and smartphone app featuring famous swords as delicious eye candy Touken Danshi, is coming to the stage again as a musical in March! Subtitled Mihotose no Komoriuta, and it focuses on the House of Tokugawa, depicting a battle to restore the flow of history.

Since the first stage adaptation in fall 2015, the musical has gone on to have a special performance at the Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima, Hiroshima Prefecture in November 2016 dedicated to the 20th anniversary of its registration as a World Heritage Site, as well as live performances at the Osaka-jo Hall in Osaka and the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo with an total attendance of over 50,000.

It was also revealed that Ohta Motohiro will be playing Sengo Muramasa, and Washio Noboru will be donning the robes of Tokugawa Ieyasu. With its interesting story and promising cast, it’s certainly a stage show to look forward to.
