The brand new anime Rewrite is set to make its summer season debut on July 2 with a special hour long first episode to be broadcast on Tokyo MX, MBS, and BS11. The extended first episode will also receive a preview screening on June 25, will also be live streamed on Nico Nico Douga, where the cast and creative team are expected to appear and offer a few comments to fans.
Following the special 1-hour episode, the series will continue broadcasts from July 2 on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, MBS, and BS11. The exact broadcast time for each station has not yet been confirmed and the schedule may change in response to unforeseen circumstances.
If you’re in Japan and would like to attend the preview screening to get an early look at the hour long first episode before the official broadcast on July 2, you’ll need to visit the official website and fill in the application form.

Application Period: June 4 at 6:00 pm to June 15 at 11:59 pm (if you are planning to apply make sure you take note of the small print on the application form).

Introduction
High school student Kotaro Tennoji lives out his ordinary days in the country town of Kazamatsuri with his friends Kotori Kanbe and Haruhiko Yoshino. Once a year the usually quiet town becomes lively thanks to the annual harvest festival. As the event is kind of like a giant culture festival, Kotaro decides to do some research for an article regarding unidentified mysterious animals and occult rumours relating to the town. Kotaro then starts to become embroiled in various strange events as the head of the occult research group alongside his friend Kotori and other pupils from the school. Kotaro has an adventurous heart and enjoys spending this exciting time with his friends, but neither he nor anyone else knows what the search for the truth will lead to…can he “rewrite” the past and change her fate?
First released as a visual novel in 2011, Rewrite is now receiving its long-awaited TV anime adaptation. Tensho (Motoki Tanaka) who handled the opening animation of the original game will take on direction and series composition while Romeo Tanaka, who also worked on the original game, will return to work on the script alongside Clannad’s Kai (Visual Arts). Masayuki Nonaka who previously worked on the Grisaia series, will also work alongside Tensho as the chief animation director with 8-Bit handling production.
