Bandai’s location scouting and events department is about to make a change to its BC-bakery Expocity cafe located in Suita near Osaka. From June 16, the store will change its name to Bakery Cafe Charabread!

The idea of the cafe remains unchanged - offering customers not only freshly baked bread and tasty drinks, but a healthy dose of fun too. However, the store is looking to boost the range of its activities by collaborating with various characters in the bread and other menu items on offer as well as making use of Bandai’s expertise to develop their merchandising.
The next character collaboration will be with Rascal the Raccoon which is about to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its TV anime broadcast. The Rascal the Raccoon bread and themed menu will be on offer for a limited time only from June 16 to Nov. 24, 2016.
To truly immerse themselves in character goodness, the store is even changing its name! One of the most popular items on offer at BC-bakery since its opening in November 2015 has been their collaboration with Kapibarasan which has sold around 35,000 items so far (and is still on sale until June 15).
Sticking with the idea of freshly made character breads, the store has come up with a new name for this line of baked goods, Charabread, which emphases its character collaborations. Hoping to really get the most out of the change, the shop will also be renamed Bakery Cafe Charabread.

The first Bakery Cafe Charabread collaboration will be with Rascal the Raccoon, the sprightly creature about to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its TV anime broadcast in 2017.

Starting with Rascal breads, the cafe will also offer a Rascal the Raccoon themed menu for a limited period only. Additional menu items are also expected to appear during the collaborative period.
If you want to grab something to take home with you, the cafe has also prepared a special souvenir set which comes with the character bread plus a mug packaged inside a Rascal-branded box - which would make a great gift, don’t you think? hint

Why not grab a drink too? As far as beverages go, you can choose from three character latte designs and two different drinks. The drinks and desserts also come with a coaster 1 which will change designs every month each featuring scenes from the anime and a cute illustration of Rascal. Of course, there will also be even more Rascal goods on sale in the merchandise corner.
