Beyond Co., Ltd., a server maintenance company, has created the Women Entrepreneurs Aid Project using cloud support to assist female entrepreneurs. As the first part of this, they released the High School Girl Startup Lab service on May 25 which offers one year of server construction, maintenance, and development for free.

■ Why is the High School Girl Startup Lab Service Being Offered?
With the spread and growth of IT, cases of entrepreneurs starting businesses in their teens are becoming more and more common. There are also many issues and challenges female entrepreneurs face, though, and according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ employment status service, as well as the Questionnaire Survey for Female Entrepreneurs, the income for 70% of individuals is under 1 million yen. When comparing ages between female and male entrepreneurs when starting a business, women are an average of 4.5 years younger, and women at a younger age (and therefore with less work experience) have a lower chance of getting funds or relevant experience, leaving them in a difficult position to start a business. In short, women often have higher hurdles to jump compared to their male counterparts. There are also those who find themselves with a good idea but without the skills to actualize that idea. This service is therefore dedicated to offering a free server, as well as development support with the goal of increasing the number of young female entrepreneurs and therefore helping Japan as a whole.
