Three Train Companies to Host Ace Attorney 6 Collaboration “Mystery Rally - Yuko no Akashi”!

Three railroad companies—Keihan Electric Railway, Nagoya Railroad Co., Ltd. (Meitetsu), and Keikyu—are to collaborate with video game company Capcom from June 9 for a limited-time Ace Attorney 6 event titled “Gyakuten Saiban 6 Mystery Rally: Yuko no Akashi” (Ace Attorney 6 Mystery Rally: Evidence of Friendship).

The three railway companies and Capcom are coming together in the hopes of raising both of their profiles in the run up to the release of the sixth game in the courtroom battling series which has already sold over 5.7 million copies so far - Ace Attorney 6. The train companies are located in three different areas of Japan—Kanto, Kansai, and Toukai—but at stations along each of the lines you’ll be handed a selection of evidence with the status of the investigation and various clues presented too so you can participate in identifying the contradictions in the witness statements and unmask the real criminal at the final stop.

This is the first time three train companies have collaborated over something completely unconnected to the trains themselves. Each of the different train lines will feature a different incident as part of an original story created by the development team of Ace Attorney 6 which will enable you to experience the difficulty level and universe from the game in a realistic way. It’s not just an opportunity to enjoy the rally at your local train station either, but an excuse to get to know some of the other stations along the line too.

What is Ace Attorney?
The first in the series of courtroom battle games, Ace Attorney was released in Japan on Oct. 12, 2001 and the series has since gone on to sell over 5.7 million copies. The player takes on the role of an attorney defending an innocent client and tries to uncover the real truth behind the events. By pointing out the various inconsistencies between the witness statements and other forms of evidence you can establish the innocence of your client. When you’re at a crisis point you can shout “Wait!” or “Objection!” and experience the thrill of chasing down a criminal in a “turnabout trial” just like on TV. The operation of the games is fairly simple too so kids and adults alike can enjoy them, and the series is also well loved for its eccentric characters and their catchphrases. The latest game in the series, Ace Attorney 6, will be released for the Nintendo 3DS on June 9, 2016.

Story
In 2016, evidence of friendship is exchanged between three train companies - Keihan Electric Railway, Nagoya Railroad Co., Ltd (Meitetsu), and Keikyu. Though you can’t ride through each of the lines, this is a historical connection between the Kanto, Kansai, and Toukai regions. Keikyu has given a bronze statue of their mascot character, Keikyun, to Nagoya, Nagoya has given some of its famous chicken wing sauce to Keihan, and Keihan has given a hanging scroll of a Kyoto beauty to Keikyu, symbolising the evidence of friendship between the three.

However, the chicken wing sauce was stolen on the Keihan line! You’ll have to identify the contradictions in the witness testimonies to clear the suspect’s name.

*Obviously, this is all made up. Real stations and famous place names have been used but it’s all completely fabricated. Sadly, there is no real “evidence of friendship” for any of the named companies.
