Bandai has announced development of a new series that replicates in high quality the Kamen Rider masks (head busts) called “Mask Collection Legacy.”
The first in the series is Kamen Rider Gaim. Kamen Rider Gaim is the 15th Heisei-era Kamen Rider and began broadcasting in October 2013. It became a hit for its script penned by Gen Urobuchi.
Kamen Rider Gaim stars Gaku Sano who after graduating from Kamen Rider went on to star in the currently airing TBS drama Shitamachi Rocket. By the way, Shitamachi Rocket also stars Ryoma Takeuchi who stars in the subsequent Kamen Rider series Kamen Rider Drive, so fans are quite happy over the casting.
Moving on to the first entry in the product line, it appears to be about 300 millimeters in size and comes with a pedestal. The bust has a heavy feel from the die-cast material used on the helmet’s crest. The mask and pedestal also have a light-up effect, and by pressing the switch, the visor portion of the mask and clear parts of the pedestal light up.
Two versions of the mask will go on sale: “Kamen Rider Gaim Orange Arms” for 10,800 yen and “Kamen Rider Gaim Arms Change Set” for 17,064 yen (both prices include tax) which comes with changeable Arms Weapons—Orange Arms, Pine Arms, and Ichigo Arms.
They are available for pre-order now on Premium Bandai until Feb. 8 of next year. They will be delivered in May.
