Tatsuya Fujiwara as a Glasses-Wearing Manga Artist - “Boku Dake ga Inai Machi” Teaser Posted

A teaser has been released for the movie Boku Dake ga Inai Machi (The Town Where Only I Am Missing) based on the manga by Kei Sanbe that will be released in theaters Japan-wide in March 2016. Main actor Tatsuya Fujiwara and the rest of the superb cast are challenging themselves with a live-action adaptation of the manga. The manga is also being adapted into a TV anime set to broadcast during Fuji TV’s Noitamina in 2016. With a live-action movie and anime on the way, the series expands into the world of video all at once.

In Boku Dake ga Inai Machi the main character gets dragged into a phenomenon called “Revival,” which lets him repeat time as much as he wants. Before long, he is brought back 18 years into the past to find the culprit behind a series of kidnappings of elementary school kids.

The teaser shows Fujiwara as main character Satoru Fujinuma and Kasumi Arimura as Airi Katagiri. It will leave your chest throbbing in anticipation of story developments you couldn’t read previously. Another point to highlight is the first look at Fujiwara wearing glasses. The poster visual released at the same time also focuses on these two characters.

Regarding his first time co-starring with Arimura, Fujiwara commented, “[Arimura] is a person who can effortlessly convey impressive dialogue precisely and carefully in a way that gets stuck in your head.” He went on to praise her acting ability, saying, “On top of that, she conveys herself cutely while retaining herself and Airi’s likeness, so I think she’s amazing.”

On the other hand, Arimura confessed, “When Satoru [played by Fujiwara] called me Airi, he did so in a way that was agonizing yet affectionate and it made my heart jump out of my chest.” “The power of belief is something that we crammed into the movie,” she followed up, looking back on filming which began in August and has now wrapped. What will the finished movie look like? Look forward to the movie’s release next spring.

Boku Dake ga Inai Machi is based on a manga by Kei Sanbe that is currently serialized in Young Ace (Kadokawa). The manga has gained high acclaim, including ranking on Takarajimasha’s “Kono Manga ga Sugoi!” ranking, and more than 50 movie offers have been brought to the table. Directing the movie is Yuichiro Hirakawa who has worked on the TV drama The Emperor’s Cook and the movie Tsunagu, among others.
