A TV anime adaptation has been greenlit for Kono Bijutsu-bu niwa Mondai ga Aru! (The Art Club Has a Problem!) which is currently serialized in the manga magazine Dengeki Maoh (Kadokawa ASCII Media Works). This news was announced in the latest issue, volume 5, on sale now. The popular magazine is currently celebrating its 10th year, and the anime is one part of its 10th anniversary project. Kono Bijutsu-bu niwa Mondai ga Aru! will certainly bring excitement to this momentous year. A release schedule and information on the production staff and cast were not announced this time, so we’ll have to wait for more news to come.
Kono Bijutsu-bu niwa Mondai ga Aru! by Imigimuru has been serialized in Dengeki Maoh since October 2012. The series is set in an art club at a middle school and comedically depicts everyday life. Main character Uchimaki has a talent for art, but all he is interested in drawing are 2D girls. He is joined by a group of friends including Usami, who has feelings for him. Media development has even been carried out for the series to date, which includes an original PV of a collaborative song by popular Vocalo-P 40mP titled “Kokoro*Palette” that’s available on Niconico Douga.
Author Imigimuru is a resident of Hyogo Prefecture who won the Dengeki Comic Newcomer Award in 2007. Popular series created by Imigimuru include Kono Bijutsu-bu niwa Mondai ga Aru!, Kimi ni Sachi Are!!, and *Saito-kun wa Chonoryokusha Rashii.”
Kono Bijutsu-bu niwa Mondai ga Aru! is currently making a powerful push even in Dengeki Maoh. The series graces the front cover of the December issue of the magazine released on Oct. 27. On it, “anime adaptation confirmed” is written. The magazine has many popular manga serials including Heavy Object, God Eater, and Sengoku Basura.
