The popular anime Tokyo Ghoul is coming to the indoor-style theme park Tokyo Joypolis in Odaiba, Tokyo. “Tokyo Ghoul x Joypolis: Infiltrate the Ghoul Hideout in Joypolis!” will be held from Oct. 22 to Jan. 11 of next year. The project is a collaboration celebrating the Dec. 25 release of the OVA Tokyo Ghoul: Jack and Tokyo Ghoul: Pinto. It is being held for over three months so the release date falls within it.
Likely to be a highlight of “Tokyo Ghoul x Joypolis: Infiltrate the Ghoul Hideout in Joypolis!” is the original new attraction “Tokyo Ghoul: Deadly Escape.” Parkgoers will try to escape attacking ghouls in this walkthrough-type attraction. The thrill of being saved by an investigator is just like how it is in the world of the series. There will also be a real escape game titled “Tokyo Ghoul: Break Through the Blockaded Joypolis!” limited to weekend holidays. Contrary to “Deadly Escape,” in this game parkgoers become a ghoul. Players will walk through the venue solving riddles while being navigated by main character Kaneki’s voice through an MP3 player.
A special video using projection mapping will also be shown on the park’s main stage. Lifelike mapping will be implemented on a huge screen. It seems this will be an experience exclusive to the event. Screenings are also planned of special movies of seasons 1 and 2 of the TV anime. These will also be exclusive.
Original limited products featuring SD characters and a collaboration menu will be prepared as well. The world of Tokyo Ghoul will also decorate the inside of the park. The end result will leave you feeling like you snuck into the ghoul hideout.
