The broadcast of the new TV anime Rainbow Days has been confirmed to begin in January 2016. Along with this, a key visual was also released that shows the four main characters together. Moreover, a voice talent audition that collaborates with karaoke club DAM Tomo will be held. With the broadcast on the way early next year, things are starting to pick up.
The key visual released was published in the November issue of Bessatsu Margaret on sale Oct. 13. The refreshing visual shows main characters and male high school students Natsuki Hashiba, Tomoya Matsunaga, Keiichi Katakura, and Tsuyoshi Naoe with a blue sky at their backs. A beautiful rainbow also hangs in the sky, making it quite an appropriate visual.
Details on the voice talent audition have also been announced. The audition will be held from Oct. 15 to Nov. 23 as a collaboration with karaoke club DAM Tomo. The audition is open to anyone in Japan and is being held at DAM Tomo Camera locations countrywide. The winner of the audition will be able to play the role of female character Ishida in episode 6 of the anime. There will also be a present campaign in which five winners will receive a promotional poster.
In other news, the official site has been renewed and an official Twitter account has opened for the anime. Information, including details on a smartphone game to be released in early spring 2016, will be posted to Twitter from hereon. Get ready for more news to come by following the account.
Rainbow Days is based on a shojo manga by Minami Mizuno currently serialized in Bessatsu Margaret. The voice cast of the TV anime includes popular actors Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as main character Natsuki Hashiba, Takuya Eguchi, Nobunaga Shimazaki, and Koki Uchiyama.
Tetsuro Amino, who has worked on many series including Macross Dynamite 7, is the anime’s chief director. The director is Tomihiko Ohkubo, the series composer is Aki Itami, and the animation is being produced by Production Reed.
