The original manga, uploaded for free daily on the popular site Comico, is being released as an anime in the winter of 2015. This information about the anime for their popular work Momokuri comes from Comico and was immediately made available to the public.
The public site opened on Sept. 3, and information about the staff and cast was revealed. The first PV has also already begun streaming. You can see the world of Momokuri as it’s brought to anime. The animation work will be done by Satelight, with performances by popular voice actors and actresses and an authentic style.
Other details have not been released yet, but it will be starting on Comico during the winter of 2015. It will be a whole new style of anime.
Momokuri is a romantic comedy serialized on Comico by Kurose. It tells the awkward love story of second year high school student Yuki Kurihara and underclassman Shinya Momotuki whom she falls in love with at first sight. Yuki starts dating Shinya, but falls head over heels secretly taking pictures of him and gathering things he’s touched. Like the manga, the worrisome direction of this love is sure to become popular as an anime, as well.
Yoshimasa Hiraike is in charge of directing and writing, well-known for various hit works including AKB0048 and Gugure! Kokkuri-san. Miwa Oshima will be in charge of character design and will be the animation director, and is also a strong addition known for works like Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts. With animation by Satelight and music by Lantis, it’s sure to be something to look forward to.
As for who will be cast as the two protagonists, Yuki Kurihara will be played by Ai Kakuma, who also played Ruko Kominato in Selector Infected Wixoss, and Shinya Momotuki will be played by Nobuhiko Okamoto, who played Eiji Nizuma in Bakuman This is also popular news.
A talk show with the voice cast of Momokuri has also been planned for “Comico Stage in Kyomaf” on Sept. 19 at Kyomaf 2015 in Kyoto’s Miyako Messe.
In addition, there will be the Country-wide Student Championship ‘15 Award Ceremony for other manga and novels, as well as a Comico booth.
