The first issue of Monthly Comic Kyun, a new 4-panel magazine published by Kadokawa, hit shelves on Aug. 27. The magazine has gotten off to a surprising start, with the reveal of an anime adaptation of Pan de Peace! published early in the first issue. The first volume of the tankobon manga Pan de Peace! is also among the launch lineup for the new label Kyun Comics. It seems excitement is swelling quickly for this popular series.
Monthly Comic Kyun is published on the 27 of each month. It includes all sorts of cute girls. The first issue includes 38 series and has a perfect volume at 400 pages. There are 20 new serializations and 15 series that are transitioning to the magazine. Also published in the magazine are three one-shot works by guest creators: Nonai Cherry Wi Girl by Kuzushiro, Kataruri Harmonics by U Kuroba, and Girls B! by Morimori. On the front cover is an illustration of Watashi no Tomodachi ga Sekaiichi Kawaii by Sangatsu. Included as a supplement is a poster featuring artwork drawn for the occasion by Namori, creator of YuruYuri. The splendor continues with a present for readers in the form of a colored paperboard signed by all 37 artists whose works are serialized in the magazine.
Pan de Peace! which has been greenlit for an anime adaptation, is a 4-panel manga by Emily that was previously serialized in Monthly Comic Alive! and has now moved to Monthly Comic Kyun. It is on sale now as one of the first series under the new Kyun Comics label along with Sangatsu’s Hinako Note and Muku’s Nyoroko no Namahoso! Though many 4-panel works have been adapted to anime, Pan de Peace! will likely gain attention for being published in a new magazine. Keep an eye on how things progress.
