The well-known anime streaming service dAnime Store. In time with Comic Market 88, dAnime Store has announced a surprise plan. That is the “Fantastic Anime Machine,” a MAD animation made available to the public on Aug. 14.
From Aug. 14–16, Comic Market 88 was held at Tokyo Big Sight. It’s a massive event well-known to doujinshi distributors, but recently, industry booth designs and products have also been frequently discussed. Among these is the well-known anime streaming service dAnime Store. In time with Comic Market 88, dAnime Store announced a surprise plan. That is the “Fantastic Anime Machine,” a MAD animation made available to the public on Aug. 14.
The “Fantastic Anime Machine” introduces the works frequently streamed on dAnime Store. However, it doesn’t simply cut out the popular scenes in works. The video isn’t an anime, but filmed. Scenes from various anime are played back on smartphones and tablets, and using a magnificent setup, a story is weaved. You should see for yourself what happens next.
The collaborative work is wonderful. The lineup includes Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, Ouran High School Host Club, Oremonogatari!!, Psycho-Pass, Shirobako, Attack on Titan, Genesis of Aquarion, Ace of Diamond, A Certain Magical Index, Haikyu!!, Bakemonogatari, Hetalia, and Yowamushi Pedal: Grande Road.
“Fantastic Anime Machine” is 1 minute and 50 seconds long, but filming took four days, or around 80 hours. The massive device used for filming is over 3 meters long, and the width is 8 meters and was reshot over 400 times. The scenes were selected by a staff of anime-lovers, and you can feel the love in the carefully chosen works. It’s also a high-quality video, using various anime to create an interesting experiment. The dAnime Store is an anime-streaming service offered through NTT Docomo and Kadokawa. The work “Fantastic Anime Machine” was done in commemoration of dAnime Store surpassing 2 million members.
