The new movie for Wake Up, Girls!, the anime about an up-and-coming idol unit, will be released for a limited 2-week screening in Japan on Sept. 25. The first part of the movie sequel is titled Wake Up, Girls! Seishun no Kage (Wake Up, Girls! Shadow of Youth).
There is roughly a month and a half until the movie’s release, and now the first trailer has been posted. The girls of idol unit “Wake Up, Girls!” are currently in the middle of their second live tour, and this trailer was shown for the very first time at their Tokyo show on Aug. 8.
The trailer is packed at over a minute long. It shows the girls of “Wake Up, Girls!” performing in Tokyo. It includes tons from the current idol culture including mini concerts at events, selling CDs, and more. It’s certainly enough to heighten anticipation for the movie.
Advance tickets to Wake Up, Girls! Seishun no Kage will go on sale Aug. 15. As a limited bonus, those who purchase an advance ticket will also receive a deluxe WUG clear file featuring artwork of Wake Up, Girls! on the front and artwork of the spin-off Wake Up, Girl Zoo! on the back.
It has also been revealed that the new single by rival unit I-1 Club will be released on Nov. 11. The title and other details are still unknown at this time, but it will be released in two different versions. The revival of the showdown event “Fure Ai Project” has also been confirmed. Information on the single and this event will be announced in the coming days. It seems things will be heating up even more.
