Linking up with the start of the eighth anniversary tour for The Idolm@ster titled “The Idolm@ster 8th Anniversary Hop! Step!! Festiv@l!!!,” pre-orders have begun for a newly designed tote bag and rubber mat on Bandai’s official shopping site, Premium Bandai.
The Idolm@ster began in 2005 by Namco (currently Namco Bandai Games) as a game series in which players produce idols. Both the 2007 and 2011 anime were also popular. This year marks the series’ eighth anniversary, and production on an animated movie titled The Idolm@ster Movie: To the Other Side of the Light! has also been announced. On July 7 during the Tanabata festival, the event “The Idolm@ster 8th Anniversary Hop! Step!! Festiv@l!!!” was held in Nagoya. Even after eight years, far from there being any decline, the event showed even more of an upsurge for the series than before. In September, the event will also be held in four other cities throughout Japan: Osaka, Yokohama, Fukuoka, and Makuhari.
Currently, pre-orders have begun for “The Idolm@ster Tote Bag Shiny Festa” on Premium Bandai’s Bandai Fashion Net.
The Idolm@ster is said to be a title that pioneered supercharged idol content. With their own hands, players can train and produce idols to raise the height of the world of show business.
