The event “Odoru? Pikachu Tairyou Hassei-chu!” (Will They Dance? Pikachu Outbreak!) will be held from Saturday, Aug. 8 to Sunday Aug. 16 at Yokohama Minato Mirai. At the event there will be an outbreak of Pikachus, one of the most popular Pokémon, and visitors can enjoy participating by dancing with them all.
Efforts are underway in Yokohama to revitalize the area through the power of cultural arts and spurring tourism both from within Japan and abroad. The large-scale dance festival “Dance Dance Dance @ Yokohama 2015” will be held this summer. “Will They Dance? Pikachu Outbreak!” is being implemented as a part of this festival with help from the Pokémon Company and the Pokémon Communications Company.
Many people visited last summer’s event “Pikachu Outbreak! at Yokohama Minato Mirai,” making it a resounding success. This year, the theme is “dance” and the event will be bigger and offer more than last year’s. On Aug. 15 and 16, locals and visitors alike will gather in the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse along with an outbreak of Pikachus for the event “Pikachu Dance Party” during which everyone can dance together with the Pikachus.
Apart from “Will They Dance? Pikachu Outbreak!”, a Pikachu dance show will be held during the Yokohama Dance Parade opening event for “Dance Dance Dance @ Yokohama 2015” on Aug. 1 and 2. It seems there will be all kinds of Pikachus at Yokohama Minato Mirai this August.
In addition to the above, we’ve gotten word that various surprises are also in store. Check the “Dance Dance Dance @ Yokohama 2015” website for event details, venue information, and more.
