Aria, by Kozue Amano, is a soothing, slice-of-life manga set in the future. Now, in 2015, approaching 10 years since the airing of the first season of the TV anime series Aria the Animation in 2005, the 10th year anniversary project “Ao no Curtain Call” is underway. On Sept. 26, a completely new animation series, Aria the Avvenire, involving the reunion of director Junichi Sato and the rest of the TV series’ staff, will be released. All eyes are on this new anime, as fans look forward to the series’ long-awaited continuation.
As production of the new series proceeds smoothly, new information is being disclosed one after another. More secrets are out, as the second set of main visuals, as well as the new characters in Aria the Avvenire are revealed! In addition, the details of the Blu-ray box and the advance sale of movie tickets have also been announced.
The secrets revealed this time are the second set of main visuals, as well as two new characters, Azusa B. McLaren and Anya Dostoyevskaya. Just like Ai, who is an original character exclusive to the TV anime series, these characters are also drafted by Kozue Amano himself.
Azusa, who works for Himeya, has a fearless personality similar to that of Aika, and is just a little bit pompous. She is full of curiosity and is the type to act before she thinks. Anya works for Orange Planet, and is Alice’s junior and Azusa’s practice partner. She has a gentle and quiet personality, but also has an airheaded side, seeming like the type to blurt incomprehensible phrases like “Sent to Siberia!” upon meeting someone for the first time. Occasionally she tends to uses literary terms in her speech as well.
Furthermore, it has been announced that the Aria the Animation Blu-ray Box will hit stores on Dec. 24, 2015, along with more exciting details. In addition to the glorious up-converted HD version of the original Aria the Animation, also included is a case with a double-sided illustration compiling the first episode of the new series Aria the Avvenire by the original author Kozue Amano himself. The box also includes a roundtable discussion with the anime’s cast, as well as audio commentary, and is positively packed to the brim with juicy content. It is selling for 25,000 yen before taxes.
Finally, the sale of Aria the Avvenire advance movie tickets bundled with bonus items has been announced. Starting June 20, advance movie tickets coming with special ticket holders will be sold at the theaters where the movie will be screened. The ticket holder will feature the animation’s main visual. The price is set at 1,800 yen. They are limited in quantity, so you’ll want to grab yours as soon as possible!
