The much-talked-about TV anime adaptation of Hiroshi Mori’s Subete ga F ni Naru: The Perfect Insider was announced in 2014 and now on May 16 a whole host of information was released in one fell swoop. First of all, the official title for the anime adaptation will be Subete ga F ni Naru: The Perfect Insider. In addition to the book that made Hiroshi Mori famous, Subete ga F ni Naru, all four books from the Shiki (Four Seasons) series will form the basis of the anime. Broadcasts will begin in October 2015 on Fuji TV as part of the Noitamina block and others as previously announced.
At the same time as the announcement was made, the official website went live with new information and a design PV. What’s attracting the most attention is the characters designed by mangaka Inio Asano. The three characters most central to the story are illustrated in the key visual: Shiki Magata, Souhei Saikawa, and Moe Nishinosono. Inio Asano has won a great deal of popularity for his manga Solanin, Oyasumi Punpun and Dead Dead Demon's De De De De Destruction among others, but this time is challenging himself to providing character design for an anime. It’s not just the key visual on the official site either, drafts of Asano’s character designs have also been unveiled.
In addition, as for the creative team, Mamoru Kanbe ( Elfen Lied, Sound of the Sky ) has been appointed as director and Toshiya Ono ( Tsuritama, Gatchaman Crowds ) will participate in series composition. The music playing in the PV is by Kenji Kawai whose work will be familiar from Ghost in the Shell and Patlabor among many other anime series, movies and dramas. Because it’s Kenji Kawai who’s known for his dramatic music, expectations are high for this project too. A-1 Pictures will be in charge of animation production. The cast remains unclear at this point, but it seems as if there’ll be great interest in which voice actors will be cast from now on.
As for the story, it’s a mystery full of audacious ideas. Associate university professor Souhei Saikawa and his student Moe Nishinosono visit Shiki Magata, a genius programmer who has led a completely isolated life in a research station on a remote island since childhood, and stumble into a strange locked room mystery which the pair decide to solve.
