Himouto! Umaru-chan main cast announced; special Nico Nico Live program to be streamed
Cast information has been announced for the TV anime Himouto! Umaru-chan to begin broadcasting in July. Four female voice actresses have been chosen for the cast, including Aimi Tanaka as main character Umaru Doma. Streaming of a Nico Nico Live program starring the cast will also be available beginning May 18. This will be PR for the anime coming ahead of the broadcast.
Aimi Tanaka, who has played characters in Wasimo and Donten ni Warau, has been appointed as main character Umaru Doma. How will she play this character who is a perfect high school student in public and a lazy bum at home?
Additional cast includes Akari Kageyama as Umaru’s friend and classmate Nana Ebina, Haruka Shiraishi as classmate Kirie Motoba, and Yurina Furukawa as Umaru’s rival Sylphynford Tachibana. This fresh cast of voice actresses will play these high school girls brimming with charm. Along with the cast information, character artwork has also been released. Beginning with Umaru in her chibi homebody form, the cute characters are impressive in their designs.
Also announced as that a Nico Nico Live program on the anime will be available to stream beginning May 18. The four members of the main cast will be performing, and the newest information will be released during the show before being made available anywhere else. A teaser PV of the anime will also be shown during the show. Don’t miss this chance to check out the anime before you can see it anywhere else.
Himouto! Umaru-chan is based on a popular comedy manga currently serialized by Sankaku Head in Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha). Directing the anime is Masahiko Ota of YuruYuri and Minami-ke fame, and Doga Kobo is producing.
