Anime ‘Kantai Collection’ Gets Sequel!

Sequel confirmed for Kantai Collection; rebroadcast to begin in April

Production has been confirmed on a sequel to the TV anime Kantai Collection. Though the title, media, and other details have yet to be revealed, fans will be able to enjoy yet another anime with the kanmusu girls. Also announced this time is information on attending the official event “2nd KanColle Naval Review” to be held on Aug. 9 and information on the rebroadcast of the anime. It seems the momentum is still strong for KanColle, which has stirred up a huge movement.

KanColle reached its finale with the airing of the 12th episode on March 25. The announcement that the anime adaptation project will continue came at the end of the episode when the text “Sequel Confirmed!” was displayed. Whether the sequel will be the second season of the TV anime, an OVA, or a theatrical film is still unknown, so look forward to follow-up reports to come.

In other news, a premium card for getting advance tickets to the event “2nd KanColle Naval Review” before anyone else are included in the limited edition volume 1 Blu-ray and DVD released on March 27. The first advance ticket lottery is running now from March 27 at 12:00 p.m. to April 19.

At the event to be held at Pacifico Yokohama on Aug. 9 will be a gathering of the wonderful voice cast including Sumire Uesaka, Saki Fujita, Yuka Iguchi, Ayane Sakura, Nao Toyama, Yuka Otsubo, Rina Hidaka, Aya Suzaki, Iori Nomizu, Misato, and Ayana Taketatsu. There are also artists planned, which too are not to be missed. The limited edition first volume Blu-ray costs 7,600 yen and the DVD costs 6,600 yen (both prices exclude tax).

A rebroadcast of KanColle has also been confirmed. The rebroadcast will begin on Tokyo MX on April 8 and broadcast every Wednesday at 1:35 a.m., and on BS11 beginning April 9 where it will broadcast every Thursday at 3:30 a.m.
