Kantai Collection - KanColle Broadcast Begins in January 2015, Story to Begin at “Fubuki’s Arrival”

Kantai Collection - KanColle, which started as a browser game and has become a phenomenon, has garnered popularity through expanding into various media including manga and character goods. In January 2015, the broadcast to the long-awaited anime will finally begin.

News on the broadcast that Admirals (players of KanColle) all over the world have been waiting for was revealed on Nov. 7. The 17 channels including Tokyo MX that will broadcast the anime have been listed, and it will also broadcast on BS11. The anime will be viewable throughout much of the country. Similarly to the game, this will likely cause enormous excitement.

Also released at the same time are the second advance PV and an introduction for getting to know the story. According to the introduction, the series is set in a world in which humans have lost control of the oceans. Controlling the oceans is the Abyssal Fleet. In opposition to this threat are the Fleet Girls. Their port of harbor is called Chinjufu and many Fleet Girls gather there. One day, Destroyer Fubuki arrives. This is the start of a new story.

Those who are curious about this series will have the chance to see it before the broadcast begins in January. An event called “KanColle Advance Preview - Live Viewing” will be held at Shinjuku Piccadilly on Dec. 27. On the day of the event, there will be a talk show with the fantastic voice cast in addition to the advance screening. Planned to attend are Sumire Uesaka, Saki Fujita, Yuka Iguchi, Nao Toyama, Rina Hidaka, Iori Nomizu, and Aya Suzaki. Moreover, the event will be live-streamed in 29 theaters around the country, meaning that many fans will be able to celebrate the start of the anime together. Tickets for the event are designated seating only and cost 4,800 JPY (tax included). Tickets for the live viewing are also designated seating only and cost 3,000 JPY (tax included).
