July premiere of Aquarion Logos announced; theme for new 10th anniversary work is “letters”!
Aquarion Logos, a new work in the Aquarion series created in 2005 by Shoji Kawamori and Satelight, has been revealed. The TV broadcast will begin this July during its 10th anniversary year. Along with the title and broadcast date, characters, the anime’s story, and a key visual have also been revealed. This content is befitting of the series’ 10th anniversary and gives plenty to raise fans’ anticipation.
Similarly to previous works in the series thus far, Aquarion Logos will delve into the robot anime staple of “combined mecha” as well as the relationships among its characters. And this new anime has been given the theme of “letters.” A world of lettering called the Logos World will play a pivotal role in the anime. There was a time when people’s voices called out the truth of all creation, but the history of humanity took a large turn with the invention of “letters.” Being an excellent means of communication, “letters” spread in an instant, but on the other hand, the gap between words and the truth led to the creation of the Logos World. The growth of civilization makes the Logos World expand, which causes letters to run wild. A group of young people with the power to bring out the truth alone hold the power to fight back using the “Voice of Creation.”
The main character is a young boy who lives in Asagaya named Akira Kaibuki who encounters the berserking letters and utters a fateful cry before the chaos spreads to the real world. Akira and the others stand up against the crises of the world while unraveling the meaning behind the letters.
The original work, created by Shoji Kawamori and Satelight, has given rise to several masterpiece anime. Shoji is also handling the concept behind Logos. Directing is Hidekazu Sato ( Nobunaga the Fool), the series composer is Jun Kumagai ( Persona 4: The Animation), and the character designer and chief animation director is Ayana Nishino. Satelight and C2C are jointly producing the anime.
The cast is also full of fresh faces including Nobunaga Shimazaki as Akira Kaibuki, Ayane Sakura, Haruka Chisuga, Yuichiro Umehara, Takayuki Asaki, Aki Ozawa, Yuto Adachi. The fact that May’n and Haruka Chisuga are creating the opening and ending themes respectively also gives more to look forward to.
